Good morning everyone, welcome to our black history month assembly. It is a great pleasure to have you all here today, to celebrate this special occasion with us. I would like to take a moment to extend my warmest greetings to each and every one of you.
Why do we celebrate Black History Month?
As you all know, February is Black History Month. This month long-observance in the US and Canada is a chance to celebrate black achievement and provide a fresh reminder to take stock of where systemic racism persists and give visibility to the people and organizations creating change.
In today’s assembly we will be acknowledging and remembering a few significant Black People who have made a difference in our world today and whose stories and legacy continue to inspire.
