Summer Program

Two Options

Summer Elite Teen

This four-week experience includes two non-credit courses from the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum. Though students do not earn credits, they do receive feedback from teachers for the work they do submit. Trips to Canada’s Wonderland, Niagara Falls and the CN Tower can be added to the package for a small activity fee.

Summer Program

This seven-week experience includes two credits from the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum, as well as fun activities and trips in and around the city. This is also a good option for students interested in testing out the idea of studying abroad. In many cases students can extend their high school studies into the September intake, having already earn two credits in the summer.

Classes

Each school day consists of six hours of classes. Students choose two courses, taking into account the level of study achieved and the placement test results.

All levels of English are available, from all day ESL courses for absolute beginners to courses for students ready to tackle Shakespeare and Mary Shelley. We also usually offer courses in math, drama, science, business and the arts.  All our courses are based on the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum.

Extracurricular

All Braemar College students, as valued members of the Braemar community, and at no extra cost, are warmly invited to take part in a range of club and after school activities. You can learn more, and see our Director of Student Experience talking about his programing, in this video.

Accommodation

Summer program students stay with one of our Canadian homestay families. Homestays provide students with three daily meals, private furnished room, and internet.

This placement process begins with students providing our homestay department with detailed information about the kind of homestay they would like, as well as any dietary considerations or allergies or other health concerns our families should know about. Depending on demand, we are usually able to provide students with two or three suitable families to choose from before they travel to Canada.
