Many Canadians live with pets, usually dogs or cats, which are very clean and friendly. Please, understand that there will be a much larger range of homestays available to you if you are able to live with pets. They will not enter your bedroom unless you allow them.

Homestay Policies*

Homestay placement and airport pickup must be paid prior to arrival.
Housing charges are effective from date of arrival. Changes are subject to penalty.
Payment for housing must be paid directly to Braemar College.
No changes to homestay arrangement can be made upon arrival.
Changes are made as requested but are subject to availability and the discretion of the homestay coordinator.
Any students wishing to move out of a homestay must provide at least two weeks written notice prior to departure.
After one move of homestay is made, subsequent changes will be subject to an administrative fee of $100.

Student’s Signature (if 18 and older) or Parent’s/Guardian’s Signature (if under 18) If the applicant’s study permit has been refused, any homestay fees paid in advance will be refunded in full. If the study permit has been approved, unless otherwise dictated by the length of the program (e.g., Summer Program, Elite English Teen, Academic Term Abroad), the minimum stay in our homestay program is three months (12 weeks). If paid in advance when applying, the fee for the initial three-month period is not refundable. (During this period students can change their homestay, as specified in point #5 above, where a legitimate issue arises); 9. Payment Policy If Braemar College has arranged the custodianship, any changes in custodianship are not allowed without the written consent of the college. This also applies to custodianships for a second or third year.
