Grade 12 Chemistry isn’t Basic!

Our Grade 12 Chemistry classes are helping prep our future scientists!

This lab experiment for Grade 12 students asked the question: “What is the concentration of ethanoic acid (acetic acid) in the vinegar solution?”

Our students used bromothymol blue indicator and a pH meter to study the neutralization and titration of the strong base sodium hydroxide, NaOH (aq), and the weak acidethanoic acid, CH3COOH (aq).

Students had this to say:  “True controlled variables do not exist, but controlled hypotheses do.” – Grade 12 Chemistry student
