Mina Alves – Fostering Educational Change through Advocacy

Much of the research and conversation around education today emphasizes the importance of fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. Their diverse experience includes program coordination at the UofT Academic Accommodations Support Centre, resilience training with the TMU Thriving in Action team, and advocacy at Students for Barrier-Free Access.

In their current work as a learning strategist, Mina facilitates personalized equitable learning strategies, promoting accessibility and inclusion. Their work is centered on the belief that every individual has inherent worth and deserves to have their needs met with compassion, advocating for a future in education where diversity is celebrated rather than pathologized.
